1.  Introduction to Law and the Bar Exam - 3 units

 

2.  Legal Research & Writing- 3 units

 

 3.  The UCC and the Sale & Lease of Goods– 3 units

 

The three courses above are 3 units each and equal a total 9 semester units to be taken during the semester.

                       Entering students will need the following five (5) books:

1. Introduction to law  – Title: Introduction to the Law and Legal System of the United States,  3rd Edition, By:  Wm. Burnham, American Casebook Series,   Publisher:  West Publishing

2.  Uniform Commercial Code - Title "Sale of Goods: Reading and Applying the Code", 2nd edition 

By: Chomsky & Kunz,  Published by Thomson & West

 

3.  Uniform Commercial Code - Title:   "Contracts, Cases and Theory of Contractual Obligations"           

By: Hogg, Bishop & Barnhizer,  Published by Thomson & West

 

4.  Legal Research & Writing –  TBD and will follow.

 

5. Law Dictionary.  It is necessary for law students to have a law dictionary available while studying their cases.  Any law dictionary will help and listed below are some recommended titles:

 

      1.   Black’s Law Dictionary (this is the reference book most used by practicing attorneys and can be purchased in paperback to save money)    - or -

 

      2.   Barron’s Law Dictionary (adequate for law students)   - or -

 

      3.   Dictionary of Legal Terms: A Simplified Guide to the Language of Law, By Steven H. Gifis

             (this book is, also, acceptable for law students and is paperback)
